Four short years ago a kid they called “The Stringbean Slinger” burst upon the scene as a September call up and immediately fans, and the press started slotting him in the rotation as a 4th or 5th starter with a chance to become an ace. Full Story »

This would actually not surprise me at all. I think most people fail to forget I when they cubs got Edwards in the Ryan Dempster deal Edwards is actually a starter in the minors. I do not expect to Cole Hamels to be resigned no matter how good he pitches this year and if Q doesn't pick up his recent production since hes been really struggling last month I don't see the cubs bringing him back either which leaves 2 open spots in the rotation. I think Tyler chatwood may have one of those spots but I see Mike Montgomery being dealt this season which opens a spot next year for a rotation arm in which I expect that cubs to stay in house with Edwards very well could be that option unless they feel 1 of their prospects is ready opening day
